Pricing and Payment
We provide upfront pricing before any work begins. The final cost depends on the service, parts, the vehicle or lock type, and the time of day. Quoted prices are estimates until our technician assesses the job on site.
Payment is due upon completion unless we agree otherwise in writing. We accept cash, major credit cards, and common digital payments.
Proof of Ownership and Identification
For your security and ours, we require proof of ownership and a valid photo ID before we unlock a vehicle, home, or business, or before we make or program any keys. We may decline service if ownership cannot be reasonably verified. Typical documentation includes:

- Vehicle registration, title, or proof of residence, as applicable
- Additional documentation for commercial or third-party requests
Appointments, Arrival, and Cancellations
We make every effort to arrive within the estimated window, but arrival times are not guaranteed. A service call or trip fee may apply. If you need to cancel or reschedule, please call us as soon as possible so we can help the next customer.
Workmanship Guarantee
We stand behind our work. If a lock or key we serviced fails because of our workmanship within a reasonable period, we will make it right. This guarantee does not cover misuse, further damage, pre-existing conditions, tampering, or normal wear and tear.
Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Chief of Locks is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages. Our total liability for any claim will not exceed the amount you paid for the specific service in question.
We attempt non-destructive entry first where it is practical. Some situations may require drilling or hardware replacement, which we will discuss with you when possible before proceeding.
